This is a position at the Hearing Systems Section at the Department of Heal= th Technology at DTU, the Technical University of Denmark. The multi-discip= linary research conducted by the Hearing Systems Section is done in collabo= ration with several European networks, Danish hospitals, and with industry.= The goal of the research is to increase our understanding of how the human= auditory system functions and to provide insights that are useful for tech= nical applications, such as hearing aids, speech recognition systems, heari= ng diagnostics, cochlear implants and virtual reality applications. Specifi= cally, the research field of the position will be focused on exploring peop= le's speech communication challenges in adverse acoustic conditions with mu= ltiple interfering sources, as well novel strategies of intervention for pe= ople with hearing loss. The research will be connected to the activities at= the Centre for Applied Hearing Research (CAHR), thereby giving unique oppo= rtunities for collaboration with the hearing-aid industry. The candidate will contribute to teaching activities in the group, mostly a= t MSc level and focus on the international MSc program 'Engineering Acousti= cs' that is offered jointly with the Acoustic Technology Section at the Dep= artment of Electrical Engineering.
