We are also delighted to announce that *Dr. Freya Bailes* and *Prof. Ian Cross* will be the keynote speakers at this year's conference. For more information about the conference and submission guidelines, please visit our website <https://sites.google.com/york.ac.uk/sysmus2020/home>. Diana Kayser York Music Psychology Group University of York ---------------------------------------------------------------------------= ------------------------------- Dear list, We (=3D the York Music Psychology Group) are thrilled to announce that the International Conference of Students of Systematic Musicology (SysMus) will take place at the Department of Music at the University of York from *15 = =E2=80=93 17 September 2020*. SysMus is a series of international conferences annually organised by students of systematic musicology/music science. Being able to present their work to peers in a professional, yet informal, setting gives students who are still in the beginning of their academic career the opportunity to take their ideas into the world and network with peers. Many previous attendants report that participating at this conference has helped them in their future careers in both academia and the private sector. SysMus is dedicated to represent the diversity of topics and methods that are summarised under the umbrella term =E2=80=98systematic musicology=E2=80= =99. Therefore, submissions addressing any of the following subjects are particularly welcome. *The following list is not exhaustive, and students are invited and encouraged to submit if their topic is within the very broad scope of systematic musicology / music science.* - Systematic musicology - Music perception - Music cognition - Music psychology - Music therapy - Music modelling - Music information retrieval - Music sociology - Music education - Music technology - Music and culture - Musical acoustics - Music philosophy - Music theory and analysis *Presentation formats* SysMus20 invites applications for poster presentations, spoken presentations and virtual presentations. *What to submit:* Two abstracts for presentations of either format need to be submitted and should be no longer than 150 words (short abstract) and 300 words (extended abstract), and should describe the motivation, methodology, results, and implications. Abstracts should be submitted via our submission system <https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/User/Login?ReturnUrl=3D%2FSysMus2020%2= FTrack%2F1%2FSettings%2FSubmission> . For more information on presentation formats, submission formats, dates, etc., please refer to the conference website <https://sites.google.com/york.ac.uk/sysmus2020/home>. or contact SysMus20 director Diana Kayser (dk875@xxxxxxxx). Please find a pdf-version of the call for papers attached to this email and feel free to distribute it to anyone who may be interested. We're looking forward to your submissions!
