The Theory Division is an integral part of a dynamic School of Music that offers a full range of undergraduate and graduate programs in music, including M.A. and Ph.D. programs in music theory, musicology, and ethnomusicology, and is situated in a beautiful and culturally diverse metropolis. Our theory faculty is known for contributions to theories of rhythm and meter, world music analysis, music cognition, corpus studies, and the theories and analysis of contemporary art music. We seek a versatile scholar who has a strong record of research productivity in music theory and whose specializations include one or more areas that will help diversify the activities of the Theory Division. This may include engagement with cross-disciplinary collaboration, inter-cultural issues, or marginalized groups.
