Joel Snyder and I = are currently considering applicants for Ph.D. study in Experimental = Psychology at University of Nevada, Las Vegas in the Auditory Cognition = and Development Lab and in the Auditory Cognitive Neuroscience Lab. We = have facilities supporting adult and child behavioral research = (perceptual judgment, sensory-motor synchronization, cross-cultural = on-line studies), adult and child electrophysiology (high-density EEG = recordings), and infant perception (looking time procedures). New = facilities also exist for transcranial magnetic and electrical brain = stimulation, and compatible EEG. Across the two labs we address basic = questions about music perception (beat and rhythm processing), music = acquisition and enculturation in infancy and childhood, comparisons of = music and language, auditory scene analysis, auditory memory, and change = detection.
