The aim of the project is an extension of an existing prediction model for = level penalties in the context of fan noise. One major focus will be to qua= ntify and model the impact of single and multiple tonal components on fan n= oise evaluations. We are looking for a Ph.D. candidate with an academic university degree (Ma= ster or equivalent) in psychology or physics (or a related discipline) with= experience in applied psychoacoustics, to work on a three-year BMWi-funded= project focusing on fan noise perception. Basic knowledge of signal proces= sing is required and applicants need to have basic programming knowledge in= Matlab. Experience in conducting listening experiments and statistical ana= lyses is beneficial. Solid proficiency in either German or English and basi= c proficiency in the respective other language is required. The successful = candidate is expected to conduct research in applied psychoacoustics leadin= g to scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals. The acoustics group offers an attractive environment with research covering= auditory perception, computational auditory scene analysis, new technologi= es for sound reproduction, and sound quality research for automobile and av= iation. The University of Oldenburg is known for its wide range of activiti= es in hearing research and offers an excellent environment for a research p= roject in applied psychoacoustics. The University of Oldenburg is dedicated to increase the percentage of fema= le employees in the field of science. Therefore, female candidates are stro= ngly encouraged to apply. In accordance to =A7 21 Section 3 NHG, female can= didates with equal qualifications will be preferentially considered. Applic= ants with disabilities will be given preference in case of equal qualificat= ion.
