--000000000000b89a9d058a956a65 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" We have an opening for two postdocs to work on an exciting collaboration between the Geffen, Cohen and Kording laboratories on identifying the circuits for bias in sensory categorization under uncertainty sponsored by the NIH BRAIN initiative. We are looking for an experimentalist and a theoretician/computational scientist, with a background in neuroscience / physics / network science, who has recently completed (or is about to complete) a Ph.D. This would be an amazing opportunity to expand the candidate's systems neuroscience experimental skills, including two-photon imaging of population neuronal activity in behaving mice, as well as computational skills, including Bayesian and generalized linear model approaches to behavior and neuronal analysis. We will work closely with the postdoc to develop the project and train in all aspects of scientific research, writing and grantsmanship. We bring together complementary expertise to this project: circuit mapping in auditory processing (Maria Geffen http://www.med.upenn.edu/hearing ), the function of auditory and pre-frontal cortical areas in auditory cognition (Yale Cohen http://www.auditoryresearchlaboratory.weebly.com ); Bayesian computation and machine learning (Konrad Kording http://www.kordinglab.com ). Our labs form a close community of fun-loving scientists, striving to help each other while exploring the mysteries of the brain. Our trainees have won numerous awards and have been awarded government and private foundation grants. To apply, please email Dr. Maria Geffen at mgeffen@xxxxxxxx : a cover letter explaining why you are interested in the position, your CV, two reference names/emails, and pdf(s) of your publication(s). --000000000000b89a9d058a956a65 Content-Type: text/html; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <div dir=3D"ltr"><div dir=3D"ltr"><p class=3D"MsoNormal" style=3D"backgroun= d-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;backgro= und-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial;vertic= al-align:baseline;margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt;font-size:12pt;font-family:Calibr= i,sans-serif"><span style=3D"font-size:12pt;text-align:justify;font-family:= Arial,sans-serif">We have an opening for two postdocs to work on an=C2=A0ex= citing=C2=A0collaboration between the Geffen, Cohen and Kording laboratories on identifying the circu= its for bias in sensory categorization under uncertainty sponsored=C2=A0by=C2= =A0the NIH BRAIN=C2=A0initiative.=C2=A0 We are looking for an experimentalist and = a theoretician/computational scientist, with a background in neuroscience / p= hysics / network science, who has recently completed (or is about to complete) a P= h.D.
