Dear List, we are inviting applications for a post-doctoral research scientist or a Ph= D candidate to join our team in cochlear implant research/psychoacoustics. = Main responsibilities are: - Research on binaural hearing and auditory scene analysis with users of au= ditory neuronal prostheses (cochlear implants) - Development of listening tests and stimulation strategies using direct st= imulation of cochlear implants - Measurement and modeling of neuronal processing and statistical analysis = of the results - Publication in English-language scientific journals and presentations at = conferences - Supervision of student projects, assistance with teaching and with raisin= g external funding. The position is full time and will start at the earliest convenient date.=20 Qualifications: - (Interest in completing a) Doctoral degree (PhD) in one of the following = areas: psychoacoustics, medical physics/audiology, neuroscience, audio tech= nology, acoustics, signal processing, or a related area=20 - Knowledge and experience desirable in designing and analyzing psychoacous= tic experiments, direct stimulation of cochlear implants, algorithms for he= aring devices, auditory scene analysis, binaural hearing, models of the aud= itory system, audio signal processing - Very good programming skills in Matlab, Python, or C/C++ - Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as experience wit= h scientific publications - Knowledge and command of the German language desirable for working with c= ochlear implant users - Interest in basic research and the development of technical systems for m= edical applications - Flexibility and good interpersonal skills=20 - Interest in supervising students, helping with teaching and raising exter= nal funds.
