This individual will work closely with scientists, developers= , and a data collection team to innovate and develop new technologies that = enhance and optimize the human sensory experience. This position involves theoretical and data-driven computational developmen= t of innovative technologies. Computational development will be guided by n= eural or psychophysical behavioral data with emphasis on multimodal and sen= sory integration as well as closed-loop biological interfaces. The position= is in the Science Group - within the Technology Strategy department of Dol= by Laboratories. It will involve work in close collaboration with other sci= entists/technology developers/researchers in multiple locations. The individual should have expert skills working with novel data sets of va= rious background origins and strong working knowledge of current machine le= arning methods applied to computational models of perception. Ideal candida= tes have expertise in application of probabilistic statistical modeling, ma= chine learning, and multiple neural network architectures with a broad unde= rstanding of methodological approaches and proficiency in practice. Ideal c= andidates should have experience in biological interface hardware with appl= ication to technological prototyping. An applied understanding of optimizat= ion and dynamical systems is highly desired. Development will be informed by methods of experimental evaluation and sens= or biometrics, including but not limited to, multimodal immersive environme= nts, behavioral and consumer analyses, and human physiological measures suc= h as EEG, galvanic-skin conductance, thermal IR, and pupillometry.
