The successful candidate will serve as advocate for the Departme= nt to the College, University, and larger community. The successful candidate will be an academic leader and scholar with a comm= itment to the research, clinical, and teaching missions of the Department. = Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, have scholarly credentia= ls commensurate with the rank of Tenured Full Professor in the Department o= f Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, and have expertise in one of the = department's subject areas and have a program of publication in this field.= Furthermore, the candidate must be able to contribute to the research port= folio of the department. Desirable attributes include a strong record of pu= blished research and external funding as well as prior experience in academ= ic and clinical program administration and program development. The success= ful candidate must also value and promote diversity. The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences is a diverse and c= ollegial department with 22 research/tenure track faculty and 15 clinical f= aculty members. Research areas represented in the Department include: Speec= h-Language Pathology, Audiology, Linguistics, Neuroscience, and Speech & He= aring Sciences. The Department houses a thriving interdisciplinary communit= y, including ongoing collaborations with other departments (e.g., Biomedica= l Engineering, Biological Sciences, Psychological Sciences) and programs/ce= nters (e.g., Linguistics, Institute for Integrative Neuroscience, Center on= Aging and the Life Course, Purdue Autism Cluster, Center for Research on B= rain, Behavior, and NeuroRehabilitation, and Ray W. Herrick Acoustic Labora= tories). Faculty lead two interdisciplinary NIH training grants in Communic= ation Disorders and in Auditory Neuroscience. The Department has accredited= and highly ranked clinical programs in Speech-Language Pathology and Audio= logy. It awards Bachelors, Masters, Au.D., and Ph.D. degrees.
