Best, Waldo Nogueira PhD-Student 100% TV-L E13 A three-year PhD position is being offered at the German Hearing Center Han= nover[1] in the Auditory Prosthetic Group[2] (Prof. Waldo Nogueira) at the = Medical University Hannover [3] in the scope of a DFG (German Science Found= ation) project. The position focuses on the investigation of interactions b= etween acoustic and electric stimulation (EAS) in cochlear implant (CI) use= rs with residual hearing in the same ear and modelling the observed effects= . The PhD student will investigate interactions between acoustic and electric= stimulation using computational models combined with psychophysical and el= ectrophysiological measurements in EAS users with residual hearing. She/he = will implement experiments in Matlab coupled to CI research interfaces. The= experiments will be evaluated in subjects of the German Hearing Center. Mo= reover, the PhD will use advanced measurements in subjects ranging from med= ical imaging data analysis to electrocochleography to assess the electrode = nerve interface. Statistical analysis will follow to interpret the results= and physiological and phenomenological models will be used to understand a= nd predict the effects in individual patients.
