We seek a creative mind who can significantly advance the state-of-the-art in human language technology such as spoken dialogue and question answering. Your research ideas have a solid theoretical foundation, and you are able to demonstrate the practical value through prototype implementations and PoC (Proof of Concept) with potential customers. Publishing at major conferences and in top journals is our main objective, and you will be able to actively contribute to our collaborations with academic groups across the European Union and the Toshiba Corporate R&D Center in Japan. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------= ------ Responsibilities include: - Develop and investigate new ideas in human language technology and machine learning - Contribute to Toshiba=E2=80=99s future technologies - Attend conferences to present your work and represent Toshiba ---------------------------------------------------------------------------= --------- Key Qualifications: - A PhD in human language technology, machine learning or a related field (2+ years post-doctoral or equivalent industrial experience is beneficial) - In-depth knowledge of fundamentals and state-of-the-art in human language technology and/or machine learning - Strong publication record at major conferences and journals - Hands-on experience with theoretical derivations and practical implementa= tions - Self-motivated and excellent problem solving skills - Strong verbal and written communication skills ---------------------------------------------------------------------------= ------ About us: We are part of the Cambridge Research Laboratories of Toshiba Research Europe and based in Cambridge, UK.
