We are particularly interested in supporting scholars who will bring to their academic and research careers the perspective that comes from a non-traditional educational background or understanding of the experiences of groups historically underrepresented in higher education. The program offers postdoctoral research fellowships, faculty mentoring, professional development and academic networking opportunities for diverse scholars. Pittsburgh is home to a vibrant, and growing, community of researchers engaged in auditory research spanning human cognitive (neuro)sciences, animal models of auditory processing, engineering, machine hearing and speech recognition, and translational research. The research community is exceptionally well-integrated across Carnegie Mellon University and University of Pittsburgh, with opportunities for cross-cutting research and co-mentorship. This opportunity is not limited to auditory scholars, but we especially encourage those with an interest in the auditory system to join us in Pittsburgh! Please send inquiries to Lori Holt (loriholt@xxxxxxxx) or Barbara Shinn-Cunningham (bgsc@xxxxxxxx). Applications will be accepted through November 1, 2018: https://www.cmu.edu/faculty-office/ppfp/index.html. ______________________________________________________________ loriholt Professor, Department of Psychology | Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition Carnegie Mellon University loriholt@xxxxxxxx | www.psy.cmu.edu/~holtlab/ --0000000000009cba290576c99eb5 Content-Type: text/html; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <div dir=3D"ltr"><div class=3D"gmail_default" style=3D"font-family:arial,he= lvetica,sans-serif"><br clear=3D"all"></div><div style=3D"font-size:11pt"><= span style=3D"font-size:14px;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Excellent Post= doctoral Opportunity for Diverse Scholars</span></div><div style=3D"font-si= ze:11pt"><span style=3D"font-size:14px;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><spa= n class=3D"gmail_default" style=3D"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">= Carnegie Mellon University -- </span>P<span class=3D"gmail_default" style= =3D"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">ittsburgh, PA, USA</span></span= ></div><div style=3D"font-size:11pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"></div><= div style=3D"font-size:11pt"><span style=3D"font-size:14px;font-family:Cali= bri,sans-serif"><br></span></div><div style=3D"font-size:11pt"><span style= =3D"font-size:14px;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Carnegie Mellon Universi= ty (<a href=3D"http://www.cmu.edu">www.cmu.edu</a>, Pittsburgh, PA) is a pa= rtner of the President=E2=80=99s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program (PPFP), a = program started at UC Berkeley in 1984 to help identify and recruit diverse= post doc scholars with the prospect of a succeeding faculty position.=C2= =A0=C2=A0</span><span style=3D"font-size:11pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-seri= f">We are particularly interested in supporting scholars who will bring to = their academic and research careers the perspective that comes from a non-t= raditional educational background or understanding of the experiences of gr= oups historically underrepresented in higher education.
