The first holder of this post, Dr Mats K=C3=BCssner= ,=20 has worked closely with the Editor-in-Chief, Professor Ian Cross, to=20 establish the procedures that are involved in handling submissions=20 through all stages of the review and publication processes.The role now=20 particularly involves support for the operation of the new Editorial=20 Board (each of whom may act as an action editor for two or three=20 submissions per year).This entails dealing with author enquiries,=20 liaising with the Editor-in-Chief and assigning manuscripts to action=20 editors, quality-checking manuscripts on submission and resubmission,=20 proof-reading of accepted manuscripts before they are passed to the=20 publisher (e.g., checking style, English, academic conventions),=20 processing manuscripts through the SAGE online system in a timely=20 fashion, liaising with the action editors, the Editor-in-Chief, and SAGE=20 staff, providing regular reports to the senior editorial team at SEMPRE,=20 and keeping track of possible news items of interest to the actual and=20 potential readership. The role also involves monitoring manuscript=20 progress through the online system and ensuring the editorial team is=20 kept informed of tasks in-hand. The post-holder will also advise the=20 senior editors on the nature and scope of the Editorial Assistant role=20 as the journal evolves. The post would suit a doctoral/post-doctoral student, or recent graduate=20 in psychology of music, or a closely related area.
