--0000000000003850cc057095f270 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable [apologies for cross-posts] The AES is accepting submissions for Engineering Briefs (E-briefs) for the 145th convention in October 2018 in New York City. E-briefs are non-peer reviewed short talks or poster presentations for works in progress or other audio applications that are not meant to be a scientific research study, but could still be of interest to AES Convention attendees. There=E2=80=99s a wide range of possible topics, such as studio experience, equipment construction, new loudspeaker concepts, room acoustic measurements, analysis of audio equipment, and project studio startups, to name just a few. E-briefs are particularly suitable for practitioners and those doing applied work in studios, who might want to talk about a recent project or an area of operational practice. Submit a proposal to http://www.aes.org/145th_authors <http://www.aes.org/143rd_authors>, in the form of a short synopsis by *Aug= ust 1*, and if it=E2=80=99s accepted you=E2=80=99ll need to submit a short arti= cle of up to 5 pages by August 30. Relaxed reviewing of submissions will consider mainly whether your E-brief is of interest to AES members and is not overly commercial. E-briefs will be available to all AES members for free download. If your proposal is accepted, you=E2=80=99ll be offered either a presentation slot or a poster opportunity (you can indicate your preference). Presenters of E-briefs must register for the full Technical Program of the convention in order to present their work.
