This position = is=20 funded by the Auvergne Rh=C3=B4ne-Alpes region, within the framework of a= =20 larger project aimed at studying listening effort in normally hearing=20 and hearing impaired individuals, using a combination of subjective and=20 objective techniques (EEG, pupillometry). An abnormal increase of listening effort, especially in noisy=20 environments, is observed in several pathologies with very different=20 origins, such as hearing-impairment due to age, auditory processing=20 disorders and hidden hearing losses. The project is at the interface=20 between fundamental and clinical research, with the aim of designing new=20 methods to explore listening effort in several pathologies and to sort=20 out differences in listening effort depending on the origin of the=20 deficit. This program involves close collaboration with the Neuro-Dol=20 laboratory <http://neurodol.uca.fr/?_locale=3Den>of Clermont-Ferrand,=20 France (neuro-sensory Biophysics team), hearing-aid specialists and=20 several industrial partners.
