--000000000000ef16b6056c592271 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Dear AUDITORY list - As you may know, since its creation in 1992, the AUDITORY list has been run via a "listserv" server running at McGill University. Unfortunately, McGill experienced a cyber attack a few weeks back, and as a result have blocked web access to the listserv (lists.mcgill.ca). I don't know if this will be permanent or not. This doesn't prevent the email list from working, but it does have some impact on AUDITORY: (1) The archive of past list messages at McGill is no longer externally accessible. The mirror of the list archive at http://www.auditory.org/postings.html is unaffected, but it is updated only sporadically. I will work to get the mirror updating automatically and promptly again. (2) When you post to the list, you get an email response from the listserv requiring confirmation of your post (an anti-spam measure). You used to be able to confirm by clicking a link in that message (which was convenient, but has fallen foul of the site blocking). Now, the only working way to confirm your post is to "reply" to the confirmation email with a message containing OK. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I hope this won't seriously impact the usefulness of the list. Best, DAn. --000000000000ef16b6056c592271 Content-Type: text/html; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <div dir=3D"ltr">Dear AUDITORY list -=C2=A0<div><br></div><div>As you may k= now, since its creation in 1992, the AUDITORY list has been run via a &quot= ;listserv&quot; server running at McGill University.</div><div><br></div><d= iv>Unfortunately, McGill experienced a cyber attack a few weeks back, and a= s a result have blocked web access to the listserv (<a href=3D"http://lists= .mcgill.ca">lists.mcgill.ca</a>).=C2=A0 I don&#39;t know if this will be pe= rmanent or not.</div><div><br></div><div>This doesn&#39;t prevent the email= list from working, but it does have some impact on AUDITORY:</div><div><br= ></div><div>(1) The archive of past list messages at McGill is no longer ex= ternally accessible.
