Carlyon, Prof M. Bance, and Dr. R. Turner. The position wi= ll be based at the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit, University of Cam= bridge. The project involves a combination of direct-stimulation psychophysical mea= surements, electrophysiological recordings, and computational methods. Comp= uter programming skills are essential; experience with Matlab, and/or perfo= rming direct stimulation experiments with cochlear implants are desirable. = The post-holder will have a degree in a numerate, psychology, or auditory d= iscipline and will hold or be about to obtain a PhD in a relevant field. Th= ey will have the expertise to calibrate stimuli, preferably for cochlear im= plant experiments, or alternatively have a background in machine learning. = The role involves liaising both with other staff in the teams led by Dr Car= lyon and Prof. Bance, as well as with staff at Addenbrookes hospital and wi= th patients, and so the post-holder will need excellent interpersonal skill= s. There is plenty of scope for the post-holder to contribute their own met= hodological ideas and development, including final analyses relating to the= main theoretical questions of the project. Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 year in the first i= nstance.
