Apologies for cross-posting FULL-TIME MUSIC FACULTY POSITION The School of Music at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Geor= gia seeks to fill a Visiting Assistant Professor position in music technolo= gy for the 2018-2019 academic year. This full-time, nine-month appointment = begins in August 2018 and ends in May 2019. The School offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in music technology, along = with a music minor, that develop students' musical, technical, and theoreti= cal skills, challenging them to transform the ways in which we create, perf= orm, analyze, disseminate, and learn about music. In collaboration with the= Georgia Tech Center for Music Technology, the School's faculty and student= s conduct cutting edge research in areas such as music cognition, music inf= ormation retrieval, data sonification, robotic musicianship, and STEAM educ= ation. In addition, the School houses a variety of performing ensembles tha= t attract the participation of over 900 Georgia Tech students per semester. Responsibilities for this appointment include teaching undergraduate and gr= aduate courses such as Music Perception & Cognition, Introduction to Audio = Technology I/II, and/or Music Recording & Mixing; advising undergraduate an= d graduate majors in collaborative and individual research projects and the= ses; and pursuing an active agenda of research and creative work that advan= ces the field of music technology and the reputation of the School. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. or D.M.A. in music technology or in an alli= ed field such as computer science, electrical engineering, psychology, or a= udio engineering. ABD candidates will also be considered if they have compl= eted all requirements for their terminal degree except for their dissertati= on.
