Although the following advert is for a Linguistics funding scheme, it can b= e used for a wide range of speech and language topics. Students have been f= unded for work on speech in noise, hearing-impaired speech recognition, lis= tening effort, neural entrainment to speech, TMS investigations of speech p= roduction, and aphasia. ------- ESRC Linguistics studentships through the UCL, Bloomsbury & East London Doc= toral Training Partnership More than 40 studentships funded by the Economic and Social Research Counci= l (ESRC) are available at one of the largest Doctoral Training Programmes i= n the UK. We are inviting applications for both PhD and combined masters + = PhD funding. Linguistics training at UCL, Birkbeck and SOAS covers a broad range of spec= ialisms including experimental speech and language sciences, quantitative a= nd corpus linguistics, fieldwork-based language documentation and descripti= on, language acquisition and disorders, critical discourse analysis, langua= ge policy and practice, language education and intercultural communication.
