These modulations were elicited by varying whether or not girls were in the= audience during performances by the St Thomas Boys Choir of Leipzig. The b= asses exhibited an enhanced singer=92s formant when girls were present. The online study aims to find out whether this =91embellishment=92 is notic= eable to listeners. If you would like to participate, please follow this link: http://bit.ly/2z2O7zY The study takes around 10-minutes and you are told your score at the end. If you would like to read more about the original performance study, here i= s the journal article: https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fpsyg.2017.01559/full Or, if you prefer, here is a brief (and tongue-in-cheek) write up: https://theconversation.com/when-girls-are-in-the-audience-choir-boys-sing-= for-attention-83440 Regards, Peter -- Peter Keller | Professor & Research Program Leader: Music Cognition & Actio= n The MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development Western Sydney University Locked Bag 1797, Penrith NSW 2751, Australia | Phone: +61 2 9772 6722 westernsydney.edu.au/marcs pkpublications.weebly.com twitter.com/perikeller --_000_D6052C4519E2Epkellerwesternsydneyeduau_ Content-Type: text/html; charset="Windows-1252" Content-ID: <51BD0466C1A144479B78CE3293934C93@xxxxxxxx> Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <html> <head> <meta http-equiv=3D"Content-Type" content=3D"text/html; charset=3DWindows-1= 252"> </head> <body style=3D"word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-lin= e-break: after-white-space;"> <div> <div><font face=3D"Arial,sans-serif">Dear list member,</font></div> <div><font face=3D"Arial,sans-serif"><br> </font></div> <div><font face=3D"Arial,sans-serif">I am conducting an online listening st= udy to assess the detectability of modulations in the singer=92s formant in= choir performances.&nbsp;</font></div> <div><font face=3D"Arial,sans-serif"><br> </font></div> <div><font face=3D"Arial,sans-serif">These modulations were elicited by var= ying whether or not girls were in the audience during performances by the S= t Thomas Boys Choir of Leipzig.
