We are seeking a part-time research assistant/lab manager to work in the Hu= man Communication group led by Katharina von Kriegstein at the Max Planck I= nstitute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences (MPI CBS) in Leipzig, Germa= ny. Research in the group focuses on the investigation of neural mechanisms= of human communication using a broad spectrum of neuroscientific methods (= functional and structural MRI, MEG, tDCS, TMS). Research involves typically= developed populations as well as populations with developmental communicat= ion deficits (developmental dyslexia, autism spectrum disorder, phonagnosia= , proposagnosia). The position will involve recruiting participants, running behavioural test= s, assistance with data-acquisition in MRI, TMS and tDCS studies, assistanc= e with data analyses, assistance with grant applications and literature sea= rches, attending lab meetings, supervising undergraduate students in the la= b and overseeing day-to-day lab operations. The candidate should have a university degree in psychology, neuroscience, = or a related topic or dedicated vocational training (e.g. medical/psycholog= ical technical assistant). Strong organisational and communication skills, = and an excellent command of the English and German language are essential. = Experience with clinical populations (particularly autism spectrum disorder= , developmental dyslexia) and/or research experience in experimental psycho= logy or related disciplines would be advantageous. The position is initially for one year, with the possibility of an extensio= n, and it is on a part-time (20 hours/week) basis. The ideal starting date = is 15.10.2017. A later start is also possible. Remuneration is based on the payscale of the Max Planck Society.
