It is therefore desirable to extend the machine= learning approach which has been applied to speech and language technology= , and emulate more closely the way humans and living systems acquire langua= ge. Desirable properties of the new learning approaches would include:=0A= * being less dependent on annotated data,=0A= * acquiring knowledge from multimodal inputs (acoustic, visual, tactile),= =0A= * learning from interaction,=0A= * relating learning to the situational context,=0A= * grounding language in the perceptual, emotional and sensorimotor experien= ce of the agent=0A= This requires a highly multidisciplinary approach, combining the field of h= uman language processing, speech technology, machine learning, developmenta= l robotics and cognitive and systems neuroscience.=0A= =0A= Confirmed keynote speakers:=0A= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=0A= * Emmanuel Dupoux, =C9cole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris, F= rance.=0A= * Katerina Pastra, Cognitive Systems Research Institute, Athens, Greece=0A= * Robert Legenstein, Graz University of Technology, Austria=0A= =0A= Scientific Area Topics=0A= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=0A= * Language Learning via Grounded Dialogue=0A= * Language Generation for Embodied Tasks=0A= * Grounded Knowledge Representations=0A= * Skill Learning via Interactive Dialogue=0A= * Aligning and Translating Language to Situated Actions=0A= * Instructions for Navigation/Articulation/Manipulation=0A= * Mapping Language and World=0A= * Grounded Reinforcement Learning=0A= * Language-based Game Playing for Grounding=0A= * Structured and Deep Learning Models for Embodied Language=0A= * New Datasets for Embodied Language=0A= * Better Evaluation Metrics for Embodied Language=0A= =0A= Submission and Format=0A= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=0A= We invite original submissions from 3 pages including references to 4 pages= of text, plus one page (maximum) for references in the INTERSPEECH format.= Each submission will be reviewed by at least two members of the Scientific= Review Committee.=0A= =0A= Submit your paper through EasyChair:=0A= https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=3Dglu2017=0A= =0A= Proceedings and Publication=0A= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=0A= Accepted papers will be published in the open access GLU2017 (indexed)=0A= proceedings.=0A= =0A= Registration=0A= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=0A= We are trying to keep the costs as low as possible.
