Our objectiv= e is to promote innovation, sharing and collaboration across educators to r= educe duplication of effort and increase the breadth of educational tools a= vailable for teaching in the ARO community. Anyone that has developed a computer-based teaching exercise is invited to = submit a document describing the exercise (including a title, short abstrac= t, teaching objective, lesson plan and usage guides) and links to necessary= software for use by the ARO community and general public. Teaching exercis= es should demonstrate a lesson relevant to the interests of ARO, and may be= targeted at students at a graduate or undergraduate level. All submissions= will be made publicly available online after the meeting, and selected sub= mitters will be invited to give a 10 minute presentation on their teaching = exercise during a special session at ARO. Presenters are encouraged to expl= ain and demonstrate their teaching exercise, and discuss how it enriches th= eir course curriculum. Junior faculty, post-docs and students are especiall= y encouraged to submit teaching exercises. We hope that this will be an opp= ortunity for them to showcase part of their teaching portfolio, and demonst= rate innovation in teaching. All interested ARO members are encouraged to contact adam.bosen@xxxxxxxx= g and alan.kan@xxxxxxxx with questions and submissions. Thanks, Adam and Alan --_000_3ae7581e939b4e6c808d8c8e827457f2nehcexch03btusaboystown_ Content-Type: text/html; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <html xmlns:v=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" xmlns:o=3D"urn:schemas-micr= osoft-com:office:office" xmlns:w=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:word" = xmlns:m=3D"http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2004/12/omml" xmlns=3D"http:= //www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40"> <head> <meta http-equiv=3D"Content-Type" content=3D"text/html; charset=3Dus-ascii"= > <meta name=3D"Generator" content=3D"Microsoft Word 14 (filtered medium)"> <style><!-- /* Font Definitions */ @xxxxxxxx {font-family:"Cambria Math"; panose-1:2 4 5 3 5 4 6 3 2 4;} @xxxxxxxx {font-family:Calibri; panose-1:2 15 5 2 2 2 4 3 2 4;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";} a:link, span.MsoHyperlink {mso-style-priority:99; color:blue; text-decoration:underline;} a:visited, span.MsoHyperlinkFollowed {mso-style-priority:99; color:purple; text-decoration:underline;} span.EmailStyle17 {mso-style-type:personal-compose; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; color:windowtext;} p.Default, li.Default, div.Default {mso-style-name:Default; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; text-autospace:none; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; color:black;} .MsoChpDefault {mso-style-type:export-only; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";} @xxxxxxxx WordSection1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.0in 1.0in 1.0in;} div.WordSection1 {page:WordSection1;} --></style><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:shapedefaults v:ext=3D"edit" spidmax=3D"1026" /> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:shapelayout v:ext=3D"edit"> <o:idmap v:ext=3D"edit" data=3D"1" /> </o:shapelayout></xml><![endif]--> </head> <body lang=3D"EN-US" link=3D"blue" vlink=3D"purple"> <div class=3D"WordSection1"> <p class=3D"MsoNormal">Dear Colleagues attending the ARO Midwinter Meeting = 2017,<o:p></o:p></p> <p class=3D"Default"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p> <p class=3D"Default"><span style=3D"font-size:11.0pt">We are seeking to sho= wcase teaching exercises that use computer software to teach important prin= ciples of hearing and balance research to undergraduate and graduate studen= ts during the 2017 ARO Midwinter meeting.
