The purpose of = the North American Research Laboratory is to conduct basic and applied rese= arch studies to facilitate further advances in MED-EL=92s hearing implant t= echnologies. The laboratory utilizes evoked potentials, computational model= ing, and behavioral testing to study the human auditory system and translat= e scientific discovery into improved outcomes with cochlear implants and de= vice-based hearing treatments. The laboratory is located in MED-EL=92s Nort= h American headquarters in Durham, North Carolina and is seeking a full-tim= e research engineer or research scientist to contribute to the development = and application of sound coding strategies for auditory prostheses, researc= h tools, and study protocols.=20 Responsibilities include: =95 Research and technical support of research related to advanced auditory= prostheses =95 Management of research studies from study start-up through study close-= out =95 Development of research tools (software) =95 Implementation of novel stimulation strategies for cochlear implants =95 Preparation of study reports =95 Coordination of studies with members of MED-EL=92s R&D teams in Innsbru= ck, Austria Minimum requirements: =95 A Master=92s degree or higher in Engineering or Science =95 Experience in designing, executing, and documenting auditory research p= rotocols, preferably with humans implanted with cochlear implants =95 Proficiency in MATLAB programming =95 Excellent oral and written communication skills (English) Interested candidates are invited to submit a CV or resume, writing sample,= and code sample to Josh Stohl (josh.stohl@xxxxxxxx), Director of the Nort= h American Research Laboratory.
