[Deadline approaching...] Dear Colleagues, The 2017 International Symposium on Musical Acoustics (ISMA) will be=20 held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, 18-22 June 2017. The 2017 ISMA will=20 provide a focused, intimate forum with single-track presentation and=20 poster sessions on musical acoustics topics, including: - Physics-based analysis and modeling of musical instruments (brass,=20 woodwind, strings, percussion, singing voice). - Experimental techniques for sound and instrument characterization=20 (vibration and acoustical properties, quality assessment, instrument=20 documentation and preservation). - Analysis and synthesis of musical sound (techniques for signal=20 modeling, numerical synthesis, radiativity simulation). - Psychoacoustics, music cognition, performance, pedagogy (timbre=20 analysis, perceptual evaluation, musician-instrument interaction,=20 technology-enhanced learning, auralization). We formally invite the submission of papers or abstracts for admission=20 to the 2017 ISMA: - Full-paper submissions will be peer-reviewed; if accepted, they will=20 be included as "peer-reviewed publications" in the online proceedings. - Abstract submissions will be evaluated by the scientific committee;=20 authors of accepted abstracts will have the opportunity to submit a full=20 paper to be included in the online proceedings as part of the "non-peer=20 reviewed publications=E2=80=9D. Two =E2=80=9CBest Student Paper=E2=80=9D awards will be granted to the au= thors of two=20 selected papers from the full-paper submissions, with a subsequent=20 invitation to submit extended versions of such papers for publication in=20 Acta Acustica united with Acustica. In addition, one =E2=80=9CBest Poster= =20 Presentation=E2=80=9D award will be granted to one of the 2017 ISMA poste= r=20 presenters. Complete details about the conference and paper submission process are=20 available at: http://isma2017.cirmmt.mcgill.ca The 2017 ISMA is being hosted by the Computational Acoustic Modeling=20 Laboratory in the Schulich School of Music at McGill University,=20 together with the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music Media=20 and Technology, and is also co-sponsored by the Acoustical Society of=20 America. It will take place just prior to the Joint Meeting of the=20 Acoustical Society of America and the European Acoustics Association in=20 Boston, Massachusetts, USA from 25-29 June 2017. Bus transportation to=20 the Boston meeting, probably on 24 June, will be offered at minimal cost=20 (possibly even free), thanks to a financial contribution from the ASA.
