The Research and Technology Group at Advanced Bionics is looking for a Scie= ntist to work on techniques and applications of physiological signals as th= ey relate to cochlear implants. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Responsible to manage a program to evaluate concepts of how measureme= nts of physiological signals can be integrated into practice of cochlear im= plants. 2. Responsible for development and maintenance of prototype hardware and= software for recording of various physiological potentials. 3. Responsible to collaborate with external centers to conduct animal an= d/or human experiments. 4. Preparation of technical documents. Where appropriate, prepare manusc= ripts for publication in scientific literature. Special Knowledge and Skills 1. Hands-on, action-oriented, with good analytical & experimental work = habits. Attention to detail. Good interaction with other team members. 2. Strong knowledge of signal processing techniques as they apply to me= asurement of physiological signals. 3. Strong understanding of design of data acquisition systems and ampli= fiers for measurement of physiological systems. 4. Knowledge of auditory physiology a plus. 5. Hands on experience with MATLAB, C#, and other high-level computing env= ironments/languages Education and Training Ideal candidate would have a Ph.D. and/or Post-doctorate in a field of bioe= ngineering, with a strong focus on techniques of measurement of physiologic= al signals. Another strong possibility is a candidate with a Masters in bioengineering = in the area of bioinstrumentation, followed by 4 years of industry/research= experience in a related area.
