The ideal candidate will have: a PhD or equivalent in Audiology or related discipline; a registration for clinical practice; excellent understanding of theoretical issues in audiology or pedagogy; experience with course design and delivery in higher education; ability to work constructively and supportively with students and clinical, teaching, and academic colleagues; and a research profile in audiology or pedagogy that would be synergistic with a major role in audiology teaching. The UCL Ear Institute is a leading interdisciplinary centre for hearing research and audiology teaching in Europe, affiliated with the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital (RNTNEH) and situated within one of the largest biomedical research communities in the world at University College London. In a recent RAND analysis of highly cited papers related to "deafness and hearing problems" and "audiology & speech-language pathology", UCL ranked first in England; similar bibliometric analysis internationally places UCL first in Europe and among the very best institutes for audiological research and teaching worldwide.
