Onsite facilities includ= e dedicated MRI and MEG scanners, a hearing laboratory, and the development= al research centre suitable for infants through to older children. The CBSU= is also a stakeholder in a clinical research facility and a new 7T ultra h= igh field MRI scanner on the Addenbrooke's campus in Cambridge. Applications are invited for a postdoctoral scientist to join a project, fu= nded by Action on Hearing Loss, that aims to improve outcomes by cochlear i= mplant (CI) users. The research plan consists of a) psychophysical experi= ments using "direct stimulation" of the CI so as to identify electrodes tha= t could be profitably re-programmed or switched off, and b) evaluation of s= pectro-temporal tests of CI hearing as predictors of which strategies will = and will not improve speech perception.
