Dear all, I received this and I don't remember if it was already posted. In case, the usual apologies. m -- POST-DOC POSITION Applications are invited for a 12 months Post-Doctoral Fellowship, renewable, available starting October 1, 2016, within the frame of the Project PTDC/MHC-PCN/0101/2014, funded by the Portuguese Science Foundation (FCT-Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia; PI: Dr. Ana P. Pinheiro). We are looking for a strongly motivated and bright Post-doctoral researcher for a project on auditory perception and hallucinations. 1. Duration: The fellowship will be for 12 months, renewable for 2 additional years, starting on 1st of October 2016 (start date is flexible). 2. Research Activities: In this project, funded by the Portuguese Science Foundation (FTC), we aim to explore the neurofunctional bases of auditory hallucinations and temporal processing, under a predictive coding framework, by combining behavioral and brain research. The successful candidate is expected to set up innovative behavioral and EEG experiments, to independently conduct advanced EEG data analyses (ERP and EEG time-frequency), to write manuscripts for publication, and to support the research activities of younger scholars. The researcher is expected to apply for additional funding (e.g., national and international grant applications) to support associated research activities to enhance his/her scientific independence. The researcher will work directly with Dr. Ana Pinheiro and with Prof. Sonja A. Kotz. The position also involves spending 12 months in Prof. Dr. Kotz’s Lab. The successful applicant will work in an innovative, well-equipped, and scientifically stimulating environment. 3. Selection Criteria: Ph.D. Thesis in Psychology, Neuroscience or related area. Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English is required. Experience with advanced EEG data analyses and computer programming (e.g., Matlab) is required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience with Fieldtrip or SPM data processing, knowledge of neural oscillatory analyses. Computer modelling would be favorable, as well as knowledge of auditory verbal hallucinations and temporal processing. Candidates should have published at least 3 papers in well-respected peer-reviewed journals. 4. Salary: Salary is in accordance with FCT regulation (1495 €/month + Social Security + Conference Travel Support - Research Fellow Status-Law nr 40/2004-18 August). 5. Application Documents: A motivation letter describing research experience and how the candidate fulfill the requirements; Curriculum Vitae; proof of degree; up to 3 recommendation letters. The application documents should be sent in a PDF file named “CandidateName_BPD_0101/2014”. 6. Selection and Evaluation: The selection process involves two stages. The first is the evaluation of research experience and motivation, through the analysis of the CV and motivation letter (50%). The 5 best-ranked candidates will be invited for the second stage, an interview (50%). The total evaluation is the sum of the two stages. 7. Selection Committee: Ana P. Pinheiro (chairman); Sonja A. Kotz; Michael Schwartze. 8. Application period: until 15.09.2016. The interested candidates should email Dr. Ana Pinheiro for questions (ana.pinheiro@xxxxxxxx).
