The deadline for proposals is Augu= st 21, 2016, and decisions will be announced by December 31, 2016. Since 2012 the hearing industry's largest manufacturers have collaborated t= o sponsor a non-competitive, mutually agreed upon research agenda benefitti= ng the hearing aid industry, its customers, and end users. The framework fo= r this collaboration is the Hearing Industry Research Consortium (IRC). The focus of this RFP is Auditory Ecology, a concept introduced by Gatehous= e (1999) to describe the relationship between the acoustic environments exp= erienced in everyday life and the perceptual demands of different individua= ls in these environments. Gatehouse found that individuals with more divers= e auditory lifestyles had a stronger preference for more sophisticated sign= al processing strategies. Research that seeks to develop tools for characte= rizing auditory lifestyles and relates these to the effects of signal proce= ssing would be of benefit to the hearing-aid industry. The Hearing Industry Research Consortium members are: Andrew Dittberner, GN Sridhar Kalluri, Starkey Ole Fogh Olsen, Oticon Joel Beilin, Sivantos Morten Jepsen, WIDEX Stefan Launer, Phonak Read the RFP document and find the grant application form at the http://www= .hearingirc.com/ website. On behalf of the Hearing IRC members Niels, alternate member Oticon --_000_ED0205C567C83F45AD624CCED5AED2AD7B672351KBNMXEXC12Deman_ Content-Type: text/html; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <html xmlns:v=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" xmlns:o=3D"urn:schemas-micr= osoft-com:office:office" xmlns:w=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:word" = xmlns:m=3D"http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2004/12/omml" xmlns=3D"http:= //www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40"> <head> <meta http-equiv=3D"Content-Type" content=3D"text/html; charset=3Dus-ascii"= > <meta name=3D"Generator" content=3D"Microsoft Word 15 (filtered medium)"> <style><!-- /* Font Definitions */ @xxxxxxxx {font-family:Helvetica; panose-1:2 11 6 4 2 2 2 2 2 4;} @xxxxxxxx {font-family:"Cambria Math"; panose-1:2 4 5 3 5 4 6 3 2 4;} @xxxxxxxx {font-family:Calibri; panose-1:2 15 5 2 2 2 4 3 2 4;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {margin:0cm; margin-bottom:.0001pt; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-fareast-language:EN-US;} a:link, span.MsoHyperlink {mso-style-priority:99; color:#0563C1; text-decoration:underline;} a:visited, span.MsoHyperlinkFollowed {mso-style-priority:99; color:#954F72; text-decoration:underline;} span.EmailStyle17 {mso-style-type:personal-compose; font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"; color:windowtext;} .MsoChpDefault {mso-style-type:export-only; mso-fareast-language:EN-US;} @xxxxxxxx WordSection1 {size:612.0pt 792.0pt; margin:3.0cm 2.0cm 3.0cm 2.0cm;} div.WordSection1 {page:WordSection1;} --></style><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:shapedefaults v:ext=3D"edit" spidmax=3D"1026" /> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:shapelayout v:ext=3D"edit"> <o:idmap v:ext=3D"edit" data=3D"1" /> </o:shapelayout></xml><![endif]--> </head> <body lang=3D"EN-GB" link=3D"#0563C1" vlink=3D"#954F72"> <div class=3D"WordSection1"> <p class=3D"MsoNormal"><span style=3D"font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;s= ans-serif&quot;">Dear colleagues<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class=3D"MsoNormal"><span style=3D"font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;s= ans-serif&quot;"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></span></p> <p class=3D"MsoNormal"><span style=3D"font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;s= ans-serif&quot;">The <a href=3D"http://www.hearingirc.com/"> Hearing Industry Research Consortium</a> just announced the 2016 Request fo= r Proposals.
