The primary project is aimed at understanding the role of cochlear neuropathy in difficulties with speech perception in noise experienced by listeners with normal audiograms. This will account for ~75% of the effort involved. The other project is concerns the development and evaluation of computer-based training of speech perception in noise for cochlear implant users. The post-holder=E2=80=99s responsibilities will include recruiting participants; designing and running speech perception and psychoacoustic tests; collection of electrophysiological measures of subcortical processing; data analysis and report writing.<br> <br> The post is funded for 2 years and 9 months in the first instance.<= br> <br> The successful candidate must have a PhD or equivalent research experience in Hearing Science, Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, or a related field. We seek a highly motivated and independent researcher with experience in programming of experiments and analysis of results.
