--001a11407dba8483d5051fec9223 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Dear list, I am (also) looking for a PhD position with regard to the perception of music and the brain processes related to this. One of the questions that I would find very interesting to investigate would be something along the lines of "is there a 'neural correlate'for the perceptions of melodies?" I find it very interesting that we can still recognize a melody if it is played on a guitar or a trumpet for example, although the information that enters the ear is completely different in these two situations. I finished my Master's in Cognitive Neuroscience at Maastricht University in 2012. My thesis focused on the role of tonotopic maps in the auditory cortex during the perception of auditory stimuli which caused a perceptual pop-out effect. We used fMRI to investigate this. Currently I'm looking for a PhD project which is related to auditory perception, preferably in Europe. If you know any available positions (coming up) please contact me via e-mail. THank you very much in advance. Kind regards, Julien Abrahams. 2015-09-16 11:55 GMT+02:00 Ihshan Gumilar <iggumilar@xxxxxxxx>: > Dear Colleagues, > > I am currently looking for a PhD position related to music and > neurorehabilitation or the applied research of music.
