Most academics in HABC have a background in audiology/hearing science, and are motivated by patient benefit through technologies and techniques to assess and improve hearing and balance. We run active, successful and world-renowned undergraduate (BSc, MSci), MSc and PhD programmes in audiology. HABC is also closely linked with the University of Southampton Auditory Implant Service and a number of other clinical services that are carried out within the Faculty. Research activity spans a wide range of areas, including hearing and balance assessments, cochlear implants, music perception, tele-monitoring, speech processing and auditory processing disorders.
