Dear All (with apologies for cross-posting), We have released a free app for iPhone/iPad which introduces a game-based approach to learning to perform Clapping Music, a composition by the American minimalist composer Steve Reich. The app is available on the Apple app store - for a direct link see http://clappingmusicapp.com The app is part of our research project on developing skill in rhythm production, for which we're recording and analyzing accuracy data from the game (completely anonymously). It has proved to be quite compelling (addictive for some) and the highest score so far is 28491. For more on the research, see http://cogsci.eecs.qmul.ac.uk/clappingmusicresearch The project is a collaboration with the London Sinfonietta and Touchpress, and is supported by Nesta, the Arts & Humanities Research Council and Arts Council England.
