The official application information and application form are located at http://careers.fi/tty/careers.cgi?action=view&job_id=908&lang=uk ---------------------------------------------------------- Postdoctoral Researcher (Audio Content Analysis) Job description: The Postdoctoral Researcher will do research in Academy of Finland funded project "Audio Content Analysis using Perceptual Models". The job includes development of methods for detecting sound objects and their attributes from audio, and related audio processing tools, including: - perceptually motivated mid-level representations of audio - pitch perception models - scalable tensor factorization models - audio visualization tools - audio onset analysis tools - tonal/noisy discrimination tools The developed tools will be integrated to an open source toolbox and specific methods can be applied in international evaluations such as MIREX. The work includes research visits to University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, and Boston University. Requirements: The successful candidate must hold a doctoral degree from a related discipline, for example Signal Processing, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Neuroinformatics, Mathematics or Artificial Intelligence. Experience in audio signal processing, audio content analysis, or auditory modelling is appreciated. Fluent written and spoken English and solid programming skills (Python/Matlab/C/C++) are appreciated. A strong academic track record and interest to work with audio signals are expected. The successful candidate should possess the competence to pursue independent scientific work to perform the duties of the position. Experience of studying and working abroad and contacts to international research will be appreciated. Salary: The salary will be based on both the job demands and the employee's personal performance in accordance with the University Salary System. According to the criteria applied to teaching and research staff, the position of a Postdoctoral Researcher is placed on the job demands levels 5-6. In addition, employees receive performance based salary. Typical starting salary for Postdoctoral Researcher is 3100-4100 EUR/month depending on the researcher's experience. The position will be filled for a fixed term period of two to four years. The commencement date will be September-December 2015.
