Job Offer: researcher/engineer in acoustics at Institut de Recherche Biomédicale des Armées (IRBA, French Armed Forces, Brétigny sur Orge,France). IRBA invites applicants for a position in the Perception Team. It is a full time job, paid by Ministère de la Défense (French Department of Defense), for three years renewable one time before being a permanent position. The position will be available from July 2015. We are seeking candidates with a PhD in acoustics, psychoacoustics or audio signal processing. Research experience in the mentioned fields, a strong interest in interdisciplinary and application-oriented work are desirable. The successful applicant will join a research group, whose activities center around: sound localization and virtual audio techniques in human-system interfaces; speech in noise and cocktail-party effect in multi-talkers radio communications; auditory warnings. The successful candidate will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team (medical doctor, researcher in psychoacoustics, computer engineer) and will conduct research programms in acoustics and psychoacoustics.
