PhD scholarships at the MARCS Institute, University of Western Sydney The MARCS Institute invites applications from highly motivated graduates seeking to undertake a PhD in Music Cognition and Action, specifically: - Neurocognitive mechanisms for perception-action coupling; - Sensorimotor synchronisation, entrainment, and rhythm perception and production; - Developing and modelling ensemble skills and joint action; - Perceiving loudness and its relation to affect; - Improvising and creating dance and music; - Associative learning including action and dance sequences. Potential advisors: A/Prof Peter Keller, Dr Jennifer MacRitchie, Dr Giacomo Novembre, Dr Manuel Varlet, Prof Roger Dean, Dr Kirk Olsen, Dr Andrew Milne and Prof Kate Stevens.
