General Information: The Department of Hearing Speech and Language Sciences seeks faculty applicants committed to teaching graduate Audiology courses a= nd Ph.D. level courses in the Hearing, Speech and Language Sciences. Candidate= s must demonstrate potential for competency in teaching, scholarship/research= , and service. Fluency in sign language communication is highly desirable. Applic= ants who are not fluent must be willing to learn. Rank and salary is commensurat= e with experience and qualifications. The appointment will be nine months for= the academic year beginning August 16, 2014; and may be filled on January 13, 2= 014. Position is contingent on funding. Responsibilities: Candidates will be expected to teach courses in Audiology and other courses supported by the Department of Hearing Speech and Language Sciences. They w= ill advise students in the major, supervise students in the Hearing and Speech Center, mentor students on their Audiology Research Project or Thesis, serv= e on or chair Ph.D. Dissertation Committees and work collaboratively with facult= y members, clinical supervisors and department staff. Candidates will be expe= cted to engage in scholarship and/or research in the discipline and participate = in department and university faculty activities and professional service. Gran= t writing and/or other department responsibilities may be assigned. Requirements: An earned terminal doctoral degree in Audiology or closely related field. Candidates must possess content knowledge in a range of areas that might include: Diagnostic Audiology, Pediatric Audiology, Educational Audiology, Medical Audiology, Neuroanatomy of the Auditory System, Professional Issues= in Hearing, Speech and Language Sciences, Vestibular Disorders, Electrophysiol= ogy, Anatomy and Physiology of the Auditory System, and University Instruction a= nd Supervision. Candidates should demonstrate competence in teaching, scholars= hip, and a commitment to service. Candidates must also demonstrate strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
