The School was established in 2006 as part of Germany=E2=80= =99s Excellence Initiative for German universities.=20 It is the Berlin School of Mind and Brain=E2=80=99s mission to train outsta= nding young scientists to become experts in one of the relevant fields, to = provide them with knowledge over the gamut of mind and brain research, and = to give them the ability, and the opportunity, to cooperate with researcher= s from other disciplines.=20 Doctoral candidates are admitted by a four-step process that identifies the= 10=E2=80=9315 best applicants.
