AIRS Postdoctoral position- Singing Research - Focus on Digital Library Development - UPEI The AIRS (AdvancingInterdisciplinary Research in Singing) Major Collaborative Research Initiative(MCRI) at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) seeks ahighly-qualified applicant for a post-doctoral position focusing on thedevelopment of a digital repository for research in singing. The project andposition is funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council ofCanada (SSHRC) at the level of SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowships. For details: http://hr.upei.ca/01A13 The digital library is a keycomponent of the AIRS project supporting the international collaboration ofover 70 researchers and their students across Canada and 15 other countries, andit presents a unique opportunity to investigate the use of technology tofurther music research. The successful applicant will join thismultidisciplinary team of researchers who are investigating singing from theperspectives of development, education and well-being. As the work requires theability to communicate with researchers from a variety of disciplines, theideal applicant will have, as well as technical prowess, a research backgroundin a discipline represented in the AIRS consortia; and/or a background ininformation or library science with substantive experience in interdisciplinaryresearch environments. A keen love of music, especially vocal music, is alsohighly desirable. Prior knowledge of or the ability to quickly learnDrupal, Fedora and other software and platforms is required.
