Papers can be submitted via the link below. https://cmt.research.microsoft.com/ICMEW2013 IMPORTANT DATES - March 7, 2013: Deadline for submission of full-length papers - April 15, 2013: Acceptance/Rejection notification - April 30, 2013: Deadline for final camera-ready papers submission In recent years, there has been a dramatic proliferation of research on multimedia retrieval and indexing based on highly subjective concepts such as emotion, preference and aesthetics. These retrieval methods are considered human-centered, intuitive, and beyond the conventional keyword- or object-based retrieval paradigm. In addition, the problem is considered challenging because it requires multidisciplinary understanding of human behavior and perception as well as multimodal integration of different modalities (audio, visual, text, and metadata) for better performance. This workshop aims to provide a forum for the presentation of state-of-the-art research results in this emerging field and to address the growing interests in multimedia affective analysis. We encourage interdisciplinary submissions and participation to provide an opportunity for researchers from different fields to exchange ideas. The workshop will focus on mechanisms capable of exploiting the full range of modalities available to automatically to estimate the affective nature of multimedia content. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: - Affective/emotional content analysis of music, images and videos - Multimodal integration for affective content understanding - Affective multimedia indexing - Affect in content retrieval and recommendation - Affective analysis in lyrics and online blogs - Social media and sentiment analysis - Aesthetic quality assessment of multimedia - Image and video summarization based on affect - Violence and horror scene detection in videos - Implicit tagging, sensing techniques and interactive systems - Personalization and user factors - Affective benchmarking development - Cognitive/psychological perspective on affective content analysis - Affective multimedia applications For more information, please visit https://sites.google.com/site/aam13workshop/ Yi-Hsuan Yang, On behalf of the Workshop Organization Committee -- Yi-Hsuan (Eric) Yang, Ph.D. Assistant Research Fellow Research Center for IT Innovation, Academia Sinica http://www.citi.sinica.edu.tw/pages/yang/ --047d7b86f2ecbdca8d04d61523d9 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <p class=3D"MsoNormal">
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><span lang=3D"EN-US" styl= e=3D"font-family:Arial,sans-serif">Dear List,

Please accept our apologies for cross-posting.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------= ---------------------------------

The International Workshop on Affective Analysis in Multimedia (AAM)
<a href=3D"https://sites.google.com/site/aam13workshop/">https://sites.goog= le.com/site/aam13workshop/
15-19 June, 2013, San Jose, CA, USA
*****Deadline: 7 March 2013 *****

---------------------------------------------------------------------------= ---------------------------------

The International Workshop on Affective Analysis in Multimedia (AAM) will take place in San J= ose, CA, USA, June 15‒19, in conjunction with ICME 2013.<span class=3D"app= le-converted-space">

Papers can be submitted via the link below.

<span lang=3D"EN-US"><a href=3D"https://cmt.research.microsoft.com/ICMEW201= 3"><span style=3D"font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">htt= ps://cmt.research.microsoft.com/ICMEW2013<span lang=3D"EN= -US" style=3D"font-family:Arial,sans-serif">

IMPORTANT DATES

- March 7, 2013: Deadline for submission of full-length papers
- April 15, 2013: Acceptance/Rejection notification
- April 30, 2013: Deadline for final camera-ready papers submission

In recent years, there has been a dramatic proliferation of research on multimedia retrieval= and indexing based on highly subjective concepts such as emotion, preference an= d aesthetics.
