Dear List, it seems it's not only me having difficulties with finding the papers describing the roots of TIMIT. I am still looking for the followings: - L. Lamel, R. Kassel, and S. Seneff, "Speech database development: Design and analysis of the acoustic-phonetic corpus," in Proc. DARPA Speech Recognition Workshop, pp. 121–124, 1986. - J. Garofolo, L. Lamel, W. Fiesher, J. Fiscus, D. Palett, and N. Dahlgren, DARPA TIMIT Acoustic-Phonetic Continuous Speech Corpus, " Technical Report NISTIR 4930, NIST, Gaithersburgh, MD, 1993. I would be most grateful if anyone could help me with these!
