perhaps there is sort of a compromise here: If the listserv software could be persuaded to accept mails at auditory-joboffers@xxxxxxxx and forward/send that to the auditory list with an additional/changed label (like [AUDITORY-POSITION] or [AUDITORY] [POSITION AVALAIBLE]) it would not generate any more list maintenance work, and it would supply a reliable label that could be sorted easily by message filters I am not certain whether that's possible with the listserv software though .
