Auditory, Brain and Cognitive Development Laboratory Affiliated institutes: International Laboratory for Brain Music and Sound (brams.org) Montreal Children's Hospital Research Institute Montreal Neurological Institute A full-time post doctoral position is available in Dr. Krista Hyde’s Auditory, Brain and Cognitive Development Laboratory. The post-doctoral fellow will participate in ongoing lab studies focused on the brain and behavioral correlates of auditory processing in both typical development and in autism, in both children and adults. In the Auditory, Brain and Cognitive Development Laboratory we conduct both behavioral and brain imaging studies using MRI of brain structure (i.e., Voxel-based Morphometry, Cortical thickness, Diffusion Tensor Imaging) and brain function (i.e., fMRI). The lab mission is to conduct translational research that bridges fundamental cognitive neuroscience and clinical applications in developmental disorders (for example in autism). Candidates must possess a PhD, previous publication record, and strong communication and organization skills. Candidates must have a strong background in one or more of the following: auditory cognitive neuroscience, brain imaging (structure, functional MRI) and working with children (and in particular with autism or other developmental disability). The post-doctoral fellow will participate in all phases of the research project, including recruitment, data collection, data analysis (behavioral and brain imaging), and manuscript preparation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, writing ethics protocols, providing instruction and supervision to graduate research assistants on experimental procedures assisting with recruitment and scheduling participants, testing participants (children and adults), and maintaining rigorous scientific and ethical standards. The PI is committed to the promotion of the postdoctoral fellow’s career development by creating an exciting and dynamic research environment, and by encouraging the preparation of research papers. The post-doc position is initially for one year, with possible renewal for a second year. Salary will be in line with University post-doctoral stipend levels.
