Dear List The School of Audiology and Speech Sciences at the University of British Columbia has an opening for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor, starting July 1, 2012. Located in Vancouver, a vibrant multicultural city renowned for its natural beauty, UBC is among the best and largest of Canada's universities. The School (www.audiospeech.ubc.ca) is located in recently-renovated premises, and it provides ample research lab space and state-of-the-art teaching facilities. The School offers an intensive two-to-three-year program of graduate coursework (Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology), research, and supervised community-based clinical practice leading to the M.Sc. degree. It also offers Ph.D. and postdoctoral education. Duties of the new faculty member include instruction in Audiology -preferably in the areas of Hearing Science as well as Electrophysiological Measures of Hearing-, research, and service. The position requires: a Ph.D.; experience in university teaching and in student research supervision, preferably at the graduate level; a strong record of research productivity commensurate with experience. Preference will be given to applicants with research expertise in the neuroscience of hearing, with a focus on neuroimaging and neurophysiology; however, applicants with research expertise in other areas (such as cochlear implants and/or aural rehabilitation) may also be considered. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
