--000325559e72c1a39604a2db9c70 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Posted On Behalf of Beverly Wright: Postdoctoral Fellowship: Auditory Perceptual Learning Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders and Interdepartmental Neuroscience Program, Northwestern University A Research Scientist position (postdoctoral level) is available immediately to study auditory perceptual learning. Our lab explores the general principles of auditory learning, a process that leads to dramatic improvements in perceptual skills. We seek to identify the circumstances that are necessary for learning to occur as well as those that disrupt learning. We study these principles using stimuli ranging from simple sounds to speech and from fine-grained discrimination to categorization and intelligibility. Although the research program focuses on normal adults, we are also pursuing how learning changes with age, sensory experience (hearing loss), and cognitive background (e.g., dyslexia). The successful candidate will have a keen interest in the relationships among learning, memory, attention and auditory perception. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in behavioral testing and analyses. Northwestern University is located on the shore of Lake Michigan, just north of Chicago. Send a vita, statement of research interests, and names of two references to Beverly Wright (b-wright@xxxxxxxx). --000325559e72c1a39604a2db9c70 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <div><div>Posted On Behalf of Beverly Wright:</div><div><br></div><div>Post= doctoral Fellowship: Auditory Perceptual Learning</div><div>Department of C= ommunication Sciences and Disorders and Interdepartmental Neuroscience Prog= ram, Northwestern University</div> <div><br></div><div>A Research Scientist position (postdoctoral level) is a= vailable immediately to study auditory perceptual learning.
