I am forwarding this announcement to the list on behalf of Lawrence Fritts who is not currently on this list. -- Jim **************************************************************************** Dear Friends, The University of Iowa Musical Instrument Samples website is moving to a new server next week. The domain name will remain theremin.music.uiowa.edu/MIS.html. As many of you know, this is a collection of 22 orchestral instruments recorded in an anechoic chamber, playing note-by-note at 3 dynamic levels. They may be freely used for any purpose whatsoever. By my count, some 220 papers have used the samples since 1997. If you could send me the titles of your papers in the future, I would greatly appreciate it. I use this info for grants. Thank you for your patience during this transition. May I ask for a moment of silence in the passing of our old Apple Xserve, which had been running almost nonstop since 2002 :) Lawrence Fritts Associate Professor of Composition and Theory University of Iowa lawrence.fritts@xxxxxxxx
