Dear list, We are happy to announce the launch of the SiSEC 2011 campaign. Compared to the two previous editions, the proposed datasets have become closer to real-world, including background noise and source movements. Participation from researchers in the area of COMPUTATIONAL AUDITORY SCENE ANALYSIS is especially welcome. *** FIRST CALL FOR PARTICIPATION *** (apologies for cross-posting) 3rd Community-Based Signal Separation Evaluation Campaign (SiSEC 2011) http://sisec.wiki.irisa.fr/ Discussion deadline: May 2, 2011 Following the success of the two previous editions, we are glad to announce the launch of the SiSEC 2011 campaign for the evaluation of source separation algorithms. This campaign is open to anyone, whether you are an expert or a newcomer, you are interested in e.g. audio, biomedical or image processing, and your algorithm relies on prior information or not. Three audio tasks and one biomedical task are proposed as a starting point: - underdetermined speech and music mixtures - mixtures of speech and real-world background noise - speech mixtures under dynamic conditions - separation of dependent EEG components This is a community-based endeavor: all aspects of evaluation, including datasets and evaluation criteria, are to be agreed between the participants. We organizers will address the time-consuming issues of collecting and evaluating the results submitted by all participants. As a first step, we are issuing a call for discussion. The purpose of this discussion is to comment and improve upon the above four tasks and to raise new tasks that could be of interest to the community. A second call for dataset proposal and a third call for the submission of separation results will follow. CALL FOR DISCUSSION Deadline: May 2, 2011 Please register to the mailing list sisec@xxxxxxxx at https://listes.irisa.fr/sympa/info/sisec. If you wish to comment upon the proposed tasks or to propose a new task, please post your comments on the wiki http://sisec.wiki.irisa.fr/ (register at http://sisec.wiki.irisa.fr/tiki-register.php). We will then forward your comment to the mailing list and to other colleagues that might be interested in participating in this task. IMPORTANT DATES * May 2, 2011: Deadline for discussion and call for detailed task specifications and datasets * June, 2011: Detailed task specification and dataset collection deadline * July, 2011: Call for submission of separation results * October 3, 2011: LVA/ICA 2012 paper submission deadline, * October 10, 2011: Separation Campaign entrance deadline * November, 2011: Publication of the SiSEC 2011 results (on the web) * December 12, 2011: LVA/ICA 2012 camera ready submission deadline * January 15, 2012: Deadline of abstracts for demo-session at LVA/ICA2012 * March 12-15, 2012: LVA/ICA 2012 If you have any question, do not hesitate to contact us at sisec-org@xxxxxxxx Best regards, SiSEC2011 Evaluation Chairs
