Dear Colleagues: I just wanted to pass along information about the Chair search that we are conducting at Northeastern University. Responsibilities The position of Chair in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, in Bouve College of Health Sciences is approved for the level of Full Professor. Associate Professors with exceptional scholarship and leadership credentials will be considered, as well. We are seeking outstanding candidates for the position of Department Chair of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology who will actively oversee and advocate on behalf of an ASHA accredited program that is innovative, committed to excellence, and recognized internationally. Responsibilities include providing leadership and vision at the Department, College, University, national, and international levels; nurturing student, staff, and faculty development; developing new academic programs; and broadening the clinical excellence of the Department. The candidate will also be expected to continue his or her already recognized research program and contribute to the teaching mission of the department. Qualifications Position qualifications are as follows: 1) a completed PhD (or equivalent) in Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology (Hearing Science), or a related discipline; 2) a record of external funding and research accomplishment appropriate for the academic rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor; 3) demonstrated administrative and interpersonal skills; 4) a record of innovative program development and interdisciplinary collaboration; and 5) documented teaching effectiveness. A certificate of clinical competence is desirable. Applicants from all subfields of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology are strongly encouraged to apply, although the Department has particular needs in the areas of language development and disorders in children. Additional Information The Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, part of Bouvé College of Health Sciences, offers degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels, in addition to an interdisciplinary certificate in Early Intervention.
