The Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Science is focused on scholarly research in laboratory and/or clinical settings. It can involve various aspects of human communication and its associated disorders, and can cover the lifespan from infancy to elderly. Specific areas include hearing, speech recognition & production, language development & literacy, language processing, and neurogenic disorders. The Department of Speech and Hearing Science at The Ohio State University has opportunities for individuals seeking the Ph.D. We offer a rich environment for research and an 80-year tradition of excellence. We welcome applications from individuals with experience in audiology and speech-language pathology, as well as, those from related disciplines. Many researchers from related departments at OSU and beyond serve as Adjunct Professor in the Department. These individuals are an important part of our faculty and serve to provide additional breadth. Funding is available to support outstanding candidates. Check the Speech and Hearing Science Department web site (http://sphs.osu.edu/index.html) for further information. Details on the requirements of the PhD program are available from Professor Lawrence Feth, PhD (feth.1@xxxxxxxx / 614-292-1643).
